Last week, the 2026 European Figure Skating Championships took place in Sheffield, Great Britain, bringing memorable victories and new chapters in the history of the sport.
Soon, the newly crowned European champions and silver medallists will arrive in Lithuania, where on March 13 they will perform at Elements 2: Pasadoblis, a one-of-a-kind ice show at Žalgirio Arena in Kaunas.
The ice dance event was perhaps the one that attracted the most attention. Lithuania’s Allison Reed and Saulius Ambrulevičius finished fifth, while the gold medals went to Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron.
For the newly formed French duo, this was their European Championship debut. However, their world-class quality did not go unnoticed, as the pair claimed a confident victory. For Cizeron, this was already his sixth European title, adding to his 2022 Olympic gold and five World Championship gold medals.
In the men’s event, the title was won by charismatic Georgian skater Nika Egadze. It was the first European Championship medal of his career — a result that reflects his successful work and difficult path to the European elite.
Italian skating star Matteo Rizzo also stepped onto the podium, winning silver and adding a fourth European Championship medal to his collection. Before this result, he had already won one silver and two bronze medals at the event.
In the women’s competition, Estonia’s Niina Petrõkina delivered the strongest performance and claimed the gold medal for the second year in a row. Silver went to Belgium’s Loena Hendrickx, who had missed a year of skating due to injury. Her appearance in Kaunas will carry special meaning — this is where she became European champion in 2024.
Joining the best European and Lithuanian skaters will be guests from North America: Olympic champions and three-time World champions Madison Chock and Evan Bates from the United States, as well as World champions Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps from Canada.
