One of the most decorated figure skaters in the sport’s history is coming to Lithuania — Carolina Kostner. Representing Italy, she was one of the most consistent women’s singles skaters in the world for more than a decade, regularly fighting for the top positions at the biggest international competitions.
The legendary Italian skater will perform for the Lithuanian audience on March 13 at Žalgirio Arena in Kaunas, where she will present a special performance during the ice show Elements 2: Pasadoblis.
Kostner is a five-time European champion, winning the title in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2012. In addition to her gold medals, she also earned silver in 2010 and bronze in 2006 and 2013, becoming one of the most decorated skaters in the history of the event.
At the World Championships, the Italian skater twice became the best skater on the planet — in 2012 and 2018. Her record also includes World silver in 2016 and bronze medals in 2005 and 2008.
Kostner competed at four Winter Olympic Games — in 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018 — with her greatest Olympic success coming in Sochi in 2014, where she won bronze in the women’s singles event.
Throughout her career, Kostner was a multiple-time Italian champion, a regular ISU Grand Prix Final participant and medallist. She was known for her consistency in both technical elements and programme components, while her performances often ranked among the highest-scoring programmes of the season.
After ending her professional competitive career, Kostner has remained closely connected to figure skating. She regularly takes part in ice shows and exhibition programmes, and also works as a coach with leading international skaters — including the Italian pair team Rebecca Ghilardi and Filippo Ambrosini, the 2023 European silver medallists, who will also come to Kaunas.
Elements 2: Pasadoblis will also feature Lithuania’s ice dance stars Allison Reed and Saulius Ambrulevičius, new European champions Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron from France, Nika Egadze from Georgia, Niina Petrõkina from Estonia, Olympic champions Madison Chock and Evan Bates from the United States, and others.
